Fort McHenry Visitor Center

Up to $2.5 MIL Project

Demo, Clearing, Excavation, Utilities & Sediment Controls

The new Fort McHenry Visitor and Education Center is a 17,655-square-foot facility which required LLF to first demolish the old visitor center that was built in 1964, three (3) smaller buildings, and the existing parking lot. LLF demolished and installed almost 3,000 linear feet of stormwater management utilities consisting of water and sewer lines. During the demolition of the main building and the existing utilities, LLF uncovered several historical cannonballs resulting in immediate evacuation of the job site until the bomb squad could arrive and remove the potentially live cannonballs. Wash, rinse, repeat.
